I would say about a month or so ago, we started using the time out corner more seriously. We dont tolerate hitting anymore or any physical "abuse" so to say. If he hits, pulls hair, pinches, bites and things like that, he has a time out for 1-2 minutes.
In all honestly, we've noticed a big difference in his behavior. He doesn't seem to do it as much anymore. As soon as you mention "Time Out" he calms down. So I can truly say that it does works..
We have had to be SUPER consistent with it though, at first, to him it was all a joke.. He wouldn't take us seriously, and he would try to escape and laugh about it..Now he actually sits there and has his little time out. He sure is a cutie, so it was hard to discipline him, but we had no choice but to do something. I'd love to have a little bench made for him.
Has anyone else had luck with the Time Out method..?
It's definitely a better form of discipline for my son, he doesn't take it seriously either (almost 2yrs old) so we're really working on that! I'm thinking of at least a mat, that way we could take it places with us. Keep being consistent mama!
